Short History:
Formed with the merger of the National Baptist Convention of America, the National Baptist Education Convention, and the Baptist Foreign Mission Convention. In 1915, contention over the independence of the Publishing Board let to a split between those who supported the independence of the Publishing Board and those who thought the Board should report to the Convention. The Convention renamed itself the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A.
