Evangelical Protestant

Evangelical Protestant denominations and churches tend to emphasize conversion and evangelism, hold biblical authority in high regard, and can seek varying degrees of separation from the broader culture. Many denominations under the evangelical protestant umbrella can be seen as more theologically and socially conservative than mainline traditions, though there is obviously a variation among denominations, congregations, and individual adherents.

Evangelical Protestant denominations include the Southern Baptist Convention, Assemblies of God, and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A majority of nondenominational churches fall into the evangelical category.
