E.M. White Library Services

 

The E. M. White library offers various study spaces that include open tables and individual study carrels:

 
 
 
 

 

  • The Reference Room features plenty of study space in a pleasant environment including high ceilings and a generous array of windows.

  • Individual study carrels can be found throughout all 4 floors of the book stacks.

  • Two study rooms located on the Basement level. 

  •    Basement level features tables and an abundance of natural light.

Study Carrels

Reserve your own study carrel!

Located throughout the library, study carrels may be reserved by current LPTS students for an academic year -- September through June. Those who would like to use a carrel for a short period of time while working on a project may also apply for a study carrel.

To place a request for a study carrel, complete the form linked below. 

Study Carrel Rules 

  • Carrels are assigned on the basis seniority and availability.
  • Unassigned carrels are open for use by any library patron on a daily basis only. 
  • Circulating library books kept at carrels must be checked out by the patron assigned to the carrel.    
  • Light food (granola bars, nuts, etc.) and covered drinks are allowed in carrels. 
  • Cell phone use must be kept to a minimum. 

Study Rooms

The library offers two study rooms (located on the basement level). No reservations are necessary, as these rooms are available on a first come, first served basis.
