Borrowing

Borrowing privileges:

  • Your LPTS ID card is your "library card" (but we can look you up if you do not have it handy).

  • Normal check out time for books is 90 days but we can adjust to suit your needs.

  • Accessing digital books: Naturally, purchased eBooks are available 24/7. See "Books and eBooks" regarding remote access.

Kentuckiana Metroversity

Louisville has a unique consortium of eight local institutions of higher education. LPTS is a member of this consortium, which allows our faculty, students and staff access to library collections at all participating institutions. Patrons can go to these libraries in person or use our Interlibrary Loan service, allowing books to be sent and returned to the E.M. White Library!

If you wish to visit one of these libraries, call ahead to ensure you bring along proper ID or other credentials to ensure service. Note that if patrons wish to use databases at one of these libraries, they will need to go in person.

Reminder: library research can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be! If you are getting frustrated or overwhelmed by too many resources or do not know where to begin, don't hesitate to reach out to us for help! We can assist with resource access, research strategies and much more. With a bit of practice, research in the library can become a productive, satisfying (dare we say, fun) experience!
