Course Textbook Reserve Process:
The library strives to purchase all required textbooks (and recommended textbooks when we can) in both print and electronic formats for your courses.
-
Please be aware that although a digital copy shows available for purchase via Amazon or other online booksellers, the library must purchase online copies with institutional licenses. Institutional licenses are not available for all titles, and some titles, although they have institutional licenses, may be cost prohibitive. We will do our best to purchase multiple copies of online textbooks, when feasible.
-
Once you submit your syllabi to the Faculty Secretary - the library staff will search for print and digital options. Often the library may already own the print edition. Once the textbooks are identified, purchased and processed, they will be put on the Course Reserve shelf in the library. Digital copies are attached to the book records in the online catalog, Morgan.
-
Faculty and students can access a "one stop shop" for all class textbooks. Please let your students know about our Online Course Reserve service. They can access all textbook titles and see immediately if there are digital copies of each. Go to: https://lpts.on.worldcat.org/courseReserves/landing
Additional Books, Readings, Etc. for your class
-
Submit a list of any additional books, readings (journal articles, book chapters, images, etc.) to the Faculty Secretary, who will first check for copyright permissions. (This step is required)
-
Contact the library for any readings you would like to have scanned. The library staff can scan and provide faculty a searchable PDF that they can upload to Canvas. Please give the library a week's notice for scanning readings.
