LPTS Graduating Class Photos: Home

Graduating class photos from the seminary archives.

What is included in the collection?

The Archives of the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary contains thousands of photos from our more than 150 year history.  This collection provides digital images of all the graduating class photos in the Archives.  The photos are displayed by decade, and by year within that decade.  All the graduates for that year are listed.  We are missing some photos, but the names of the graduates are still listed.

Note: Some students appear in the class photos, but did not receive a degree or graduate. This is particularly true in the early years when illness might force a student to withdraw during the final year.  Students could be "partial graduates," they might receive a certificate or diploma instead of a degree, or they could be clergy who were taking a few graduate classes and already had a degree from another seminary.  Only the actual graduates are listed.

Some students may appear in more than one graduating class since the seminary has offered multiple degree levels over the years, and students often returned to acquire the next degree. This website is intended as a finding aid for the class photos.  This is not an exhaustive or authoritative list of seminary graduates.

The faculty are also pictured in the class photos through 1963, but their names are not listed for each year.
